Prez Sez - May 2011
Prez Sez, submitted by Bud Fosdick
The Happening is over and what a great success it was. I would like to thank each and every one whose efforts helped to make it such a success: Rick’s hard work to get Happening XIII organized and then Mark’s follow through, as Rick had to step back, & each of the sub-chairs: Barb, Patty, Dick, Dennis, Cathy, Ron, Bob, Karen, Alan, Debbie, Don and Jerry; each spent a lot of time and effort to bring it all together. For this, our charity and we are all appreciative. Final $$$ numbers are not available, but we should be able to donate about $4500 and still leave enough for us to sponsor a few cruise events this summer & fall.
As reported at the April meeting of HBCC, this is the last Club Newsletter that Debbie DeJong will be producing. Debbie has done a tremendous job for all of us in spending all the time and effort that it takes to put this newsletter together for the last 3+ years. We have all enjoyed the information and photos.
If anyone in the club can help continue the newsletter, Debbie has offered to work with them and show them the ropes.
If no one steps forward, we will all have to rely on the heartbeatclassicchevys.com web site for club information, pictures and events.
Elections will be coming up in 3 months. We will have 2 vacant positions – treasurer and secretary as the Lewis’s wish a vacation from their positions, which they have fulfilled admirably. They will be missed. The remaining board members have offered to run again. Of course, I would like to see 2 candidates for each position including president.
Please remember to check out the Heartbeat Happening photos on our special website: www:heartbeatclassicchevyclub.shutterfly.com. Barb’s pulling together everyone’s photos, & should have them posted soon. For those of you without internet access, please invite yourself over to someone’s home & explore together!
The most important thing that needs to be done by members of HBCC now is to pray in your own way for Rick to win his long battle over cancer. We all need to be as positive in our thoughts, as is Rick. Our prayers also go out to all those others that are having physical issues. |
